THE GENERAL DATA

On early models of considered cars carburettors Solex 2B4 (cars of early release) and Solex 2BЕ (later release) are established. Both carburettors two-chamber with a falling stream. The drive throttle заслонки the primary chamber is provided mechanically, заслонки the secondary chamber – under the influence of depression in задроссельном space.

Considered carburettors two поплавковые have the chambers equipped with a float and the needle valve which reduces action of inertial forces at braking or car turn.

Air заслонка the primary chamber of carburettor Solex 2B4 has the thermoelectric drive (a bimetallic plate with electroheating) which works at engine warming up. The thermoelectric drive works together with 2 valves – обогатителями mixes which work depending on temperature of a cooling liquid and sucked in air.

On carburettor Solex 2BЕ the electronic block of management which automatically regulates the carburettor both in a mode of warming up of the engine, and in the course of work after warming up is provided. The block is mounted in the right part of a forward partition of salon.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the air filter.
2. Disconnect from the carburettor a cable of a drive throttle заслонки.
3. On cars from an automatic transmission disconnect a kick-down-mode cable.
4. Designate and disconnect sockets of conducting of the carburettor.
5. Disconnect a conductor of connection with weight on an arm of the device of positioning throttle заслонки.
6. Designate and disconnect from the carburettor vacuum hoses, (the hose with a white strip is connected to a tee).
7. On the carburettor 2В4 disconnect from the thermovalve and muffle hoses of a cooling liquid.
8. Disconnect a fuel hose.
9. Turn away 4 bolts and remove the carburettor.
10. If necessary turn away a nut and remove a heat insulator (on a photo – теплоизоляционная the carburettor prorate).

Installation

Installation is carried out upside-down. Before installation check up cleanliness of condensed surfaces of the carburettor. Adjust cables.

The description for carburettor Solex 2B4 is more low resulted. Procedure of dismantling for carburettor Solex 2BЕ differs nothing.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Prepare the complete set of linings and sealants.
2. Wash out the carburettor outside.
3. Hook and remove draught of a drive of the accelerating pump.
4. Turn away screws of the top cover. The central bolt turn on a 6-faced key.
5. Hook and remove draught from the plastic lever air заслонки.
6. Remove the top cover and a lining.
7. Turn away the screw of fastening of an arm of the device of positioning throttle заслонки
8. Disconnect draught of a pneumodrive.
9. Turn away screws of fastening of the case throttle заслонки to the case поплавковых chambers.
10. Remove intermediate draught throttle заслонки. If it is not possible, turn away a nut and disconnect the lever from an axis заслонки the primary chamber, without supposing infringement of installation of a returnable spring.
11. Remove the case throttle заслонок and a lining.
12. Beat out axes, remove floats and get needle valves. Store these details so that at assemblage to establish on former places.
13. Turn out from secondary поплавковой chambers shunting jet, then turn out all jets from a cover, store them so that at assemblage to establish on former places.
14. Clear all details and blow channels the compressed air under low pressure.
15. Replace all linings and уплотнители (are delivered in ремкомплекте).
16. Before cover installation check up correctness of position of draught air заслонки.
17. Check up and if necessary adjust a float. For this purpose measure distance from a plane of a cover without a lining to an upper edge of a float in the absence of effort from a spring on a ball of the needle valve. This distance is regulated подгибанием a float uvula.
18. Be convinced that in the top part of the accelerating pump the epiploon is established.

Adjustment

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Air заслонка with the thermoelectric drive (2В4)
1. Be convinced that on a cover and the case of the device of a drive air заслонки there are labels. Otherwise put them.
2. Turn away 3 screws and get a ring.
3. Remove a plastic cover, having disconnected a bimetallic spring from the lever.
4. Lay under the lever air заслонки a rubber tape, displace the lever заслонки (2) to the right (having pulled for a tape) and a drill (1) diameter of 4,2 mm check up a backlash between a bottom edge заслонки and a carburettor wall. The lever can be displaced also having created depression in a pneumodrive diaphragm.
5. If necessary adjust a backlash, rotating the screw on a pneumodrive diaphragm
6. Establish a thermoelectric drive cover upside-down, having combined labels.
The device of positioning throttle заслонки (2В4)
7. Measure length of a spring of the device (position throttle заслонки corresponds to idling). The length should be 23 (±1,0) mm. If necessary adjust, rotating a nut.
8. On the idle engine check up a course of the lever of a drive заслонки from the restrictive screw to the lever which should be 5,0 (±0,5) mm. If necessary adjust, having released a counternut and rotating draught of a diaphragm. After adjustment tighten a counternut.
9. Adjustment of the device of positioning throttle заслонки on carburettors 2ВЕ is carried out in car-care centre (independent adjustment is possible only in the presence of special equipment and skills).
