THE GENERAL DATA
The prevention

If at you has lowered a wheel, move down after the journey on safe distance. Muffle the engine, include headlights of the alarm system and establish other warning signs for the prevention of other drivers.

At a raising of the car by means of a jack passengers should leave the car.

Check up, that passengers expected on safe distance from the car and traffic.

Before wheel replacement, check up, that the earth was equal and firm. If it is necessary, put under a jack a board.

The car is not insured from movement when one wheel does not concern the earths if you simply include parking transfer on an automatic transmission or include any transfer on a mechanical transmission. To guarantee that the car will not come unexpectedly to movement and will not slide off a jack, always establish the car on a manual brake and block диагонально the located wheels of the car at wheel replacement.

Step 1

Get a jack, tools and a spare wheel from a luggage carrier.

Step 2

Remove a decorative cap (if it is established) naves of a wheel by means of a screw-driver (establish a flat edge of a screw-driver for edge of a cap and wring out it) or remove the big decorative cap (if is established), having inserted fingers into apertures of a cap and having removed it.

Step 3

Turn off all bolts of fastening of a wheel counter-clockwise on one turn by means of a face wrench. Yet do not remove bolts.

Step 4

On the bottom, on each party of the car is on two reference points which are located hardly below rectangular points on a car body.

These deepenings are located approximately in 10 sm from forward and back wings.


On models Aуди-Купе and Quattro these deepenings are located approximately in 12 sm from a forward wing and approximately in 6 sm from the back.
The prevention

Поддомкрачивание the car in any other points can damage the car and lead to traumas.

Provide a firm support for a jack on the earth. If it is necessary, put under a jack a board.

Reliably establish a jack under a reference point nearest to that wheel with which it is necessary to replace.

Establish an elevating shoulder of a jack and check up, that the crest under the car bottom has reliably entered into a groove on an elevating shoulder so that the jack has not slid off.


Adjust a jack so that its basis was under edge of the car and reliably stood on the earth.


Step 5
The prevention

Do not lift the car while you are not assured that the jack is reliably established.

 For a car raising, rotate the handle clockwise.

Lift the car only on such height which is necessary for wheel replacement.

Step 6

Only for cars with disks of wheels of series Speed Line:

Step 7

Turn off a bolt of fastening of the wheel, the nearest to top, by means of the handle of a screw-driver and put it on a pure surface (for example, a paper towel).

Twirl on its place a plastic pin.

Then completely turn off other bolts of fastening of a wheel and remove a wheel, having left a plastic pin in an aperture for a bolt.

Before installation of a new wheel, clean off a dirt or the traces of corrosion which are available on adjoining surfaces of a wheel or naves.

Establish a new wheel and press it to a nave. The plastic pin guarantees that apertures in a wheel will coincide with carving apertures in a wheel nave.

Establish bolts of fastening of a wheel by means of the screw-driver handle. Then unscrew a plastic pin and insert a remaining fixing bolt.

Tighten a few all bolts by means of a face wrench.

Bolts of fastening of a wheel should be pure and rotate easily - never grease them.

The prevention

The screw-driver handle should not be used for an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a wheel.

To lower the car, rotate the handle counter-clockwise while, the jack completely not to fall.

Step 8

Then, диагонально, reliably tighten all bolts by means of a face wrench.

It is very important to twirl fixing bolts till the demanded moment of an inhaling.

Bolts are twirled correctly if their moment of an inhaling is equal 110 Н.м. Any person of average force can twirl them till such moment of an inhaling. If you doubt that bolts till the demanded moment of an inhaling have twirled, check up it with the help динамометрического a key.

If you notice that fastening bolts have rusted and badly twist, replace them.

While you do not replace bolts, go cautiously.

Step 9

Completely lower the car on the earth and remove a jack.

Check up pressure in the tyre of just established wheel.

Reliably fix the damaged wheel, a jack and tools in a luggage carrier.

The prevention

Do not postpone repair or replacement of the lowered wheel by long term.

Do not forget that the small-sized spare wheel is intended only for time use!
