2.6. Check of level of liquids

THE GENERAL DATA

Because in the course of driving there is a gradual exhaustion of a liquid and / or pollution, even at normal work of the engine, the quantity of a liquid should replenish periodically. Before level check establish the car on an equal platform.

Oil level in the engine

Oil level is checked probeом which is inserted into a branch pipe of the oil pallet of the engine.

Check oil level on the cold idle engine, or after nearby 15 minutes from the moment of its stop.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Get control probe from a tube and wipe, insert pure probe back into a tube and again get. Check up level on an oil film which should is between two risks (near to the top mark). 2. If oil level constantly goes down, the reason are an oil leak through the damaged epiploon, the weakened connections, or through piston rings or directing plugs of valves. If oil gets a dairy shade, or in oil water drops tightness of a lining of a head of cylinders is broken are observed. It specifies in necessity of immediate check of the engine. It is necessary to check an oil condition regularly also. Each time during check of level of oil before wiping probe, clamp probe two fingers and spend on it upwards. If it is visible that between fingers and probeом the rests of a dirt or small metal particles it is necessary to replace oil jam.

Cooling liquid

All cars considered in the given Management, have the closed tight system of cooling of an elevated pressure. The broad tank of white colour established behind a radiator, is connected by a hose to the basis of a stopper of a jellied mouth of a radiator. In process of heating of a cooling liquid in an engine operating time there is a replacement of a liquid of a jellied mouth in a broad tank. In process of engine cooling the cooling liquid flows down back in cooling system. The liquid is added in a tank after stopper removal.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. On a part of cars the broad tank is mounted on a radiator. Level of a liquid (arrow) should be on the cold engine near to mark Low (Bottom), on heated-up – hardly below mark Full (Full). 2. On a part of cars the broad tank is mounted sideways in a motor compartment. 3. Add a liquid.

Fast falling of level of a liquid specifies in infringement of tightness of system. Check up a radiator, hoses, a stopper of a jellied mouth, an inhaling of drain stoppers, and the water pump. If obvious signs of a leak it is not revealed, check up radiator and tank stoppers, having handed over them in car-care centre BMW.

If it is necessary to turn out a stopper of a jellied mouth of a radiator wait full cooling of system, then wrap up a stopper a thick layer of rags and turn it to the first emphasis. At steam occurrence wait while the liquid will cool down completely, then turn out a stopper.

1. Level of a liquid a tank of a hydrodrive of coupling should be about the control cast line or to coincide with it. Otherwise turn away a stopper and add. 2. Liquid level in a transparent tank of the main brake cylinder should be between marks Min and Max. Otherwise wipe and turn away a stopper and add a liquid. 3. After removal of a stopper of a tank, check up presence of pollution in a tank. In the presence of a deposit it is necessary to merge and replace a liquid.

After restoration of level of a liquid in tanks be convinced of reliability of fastening of stoppers to avoid leak of a liquid and (or) pressure drop in system.

Level of a brake liquid will go down in process of natural deterioration brake колодок. Level is restored at replacement колодок, while in service to add a liquid does not follow. Gradual fall of level below the bottom mark specifies in deterioration колодок.

Liquid of a washer of a windscreen

The tank of a washer of a windscreen is in the right part of a motor compartment.
