Removal, check of a condition and installation of assemblage of coupling

Developed in the course of deterioration of frictional overlays of a disk of coupling the dust can contain unhealthy asbestos. Do not blow off a dust the compressed air and at all do not inhale it. Do not wash out components of assemblage of coupling by solvents on an oil basis, - for this purpose the special cleaner for components of brake mechanisms or methyl spirit should be used. Used after rubbing of components of coupling the rags before recycling should be placed in tight container.


In spite of the fact that some new frictional materials do not contain asbestos, during performance of procedures of service of coupling it is necessary to start with the assumption that asbestos in all of them is available.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If the power unit is not removed from the car and not dismembered (engine Repair see the Head), access to coupling assemblage can be provided by transmission dismantle (the Manual box of a gear change see).
2. Before to start assemblage dismantle, mark landing position of a basket of coupling on a flywheel. Take advantage of a chalk or a marker.
3. Moving to a diagonal order, in stages (on a half-turn for the approach) in regular intervals ослабьте bolts of fastening of a basket to a flywheel so that there was a possibility of their reversing manually (see an illustration of the Detail of fastening of assemblage of coupling).
4. Having hooked, remove a basket from directing pins. Afterwards remove a frictional disk, having tried to remember its correct adjusting (see an illustration of the Detail of fastening of assemblage of coupling).

Condition check

In view of labour input of procedures of removal and assemblage installation it is usually accepted to make at once replacement of a frictional disk, a basket and выжимного the bearing in the complete set even if one of components is worn out only. Strictly speaking, to replace coupling assemblage it is reasonable in a preventive order each time at transmission and-or engine dismantle.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Having separated a frictional disk from a coupling basket, lay components on a workbench.
2. Before performance of cleaning of components familiarise with the prevention in the beginning of the present section. Working in well ventilated premise, and it is better in the open air, carefully clear components, having wiped their pure rags moistened in a special cleaner for components of brake mechanisms or methyl spirit.
3. Estimate degree of deterioration of frictional overlays. The residual thickness of overlays should not be less than 0.3 mm. Check up overlays on presence of signs of mechanical damages or traces замасливания. In case of revealing of cracks, traces of an overheat, deep scratches, oil stains or other defects the frictional disk is subject to replacement in gathering.
4. If frictional overlays have a working condition, estimate deterioration degree шлицов disk naves, check up a condition and durability of landing торсионных springs and rivets. In case of revealing of defects the disk is subject to replacement.
5. At revealing of traces замасливания frictional overlays, check up a condition of the left epiploon of a cranked shaft. Besides an epiploon, a source of leaks of oil the pallet joint картера with the engine block, or a primary shaft of a transmission can be. Replace defective sealing components (Heads Repair of the engine or Transmission see accordingly) before to start installation of a new frictional disk.

6. The estimation of size of palpation of a conducted disk is made with the help циферблатного a measuring instrument плунжерного type on a lathe. The disk thus puts on on a shaft or a direct core of the corresponding diameter. The size of palpation of a disk should not exceed 0.4 mm. Otherwise assemblage is subject to replacement.

7. Estimate size люфта landings of a conducted disk on шлицах a primary shaft. Люфт in a rotation direction should not exceed 0.4 mm. Excess of the stipulated value unequivocally testifies to deterioration of a nave of a disk.
8. Check up basket assemblage on presence of signs of mechanical damages. Shake press a disk, checking durability of landing of rivets. Estimate a condition of basic rings, make sure of absence of traces of an overheat of strips of fastening of a press disk to a basket. In case of revealing of damages, signs of deterioration or weakening of the effort developed диафрагменной by a spring, replace basket assemblage.

9. Check up a condition of the internal ends of petals диафрагменной springs. The ends of petals should be at one level within the admission of 0.5 mm. Slightly deformed petals can be straightened by means of the special adaptation in the form of a metal strip with a cut. If depth of deterioration of the ends of petals exceeds 0.3 mm, basket assemblage is subject to replacement.

10. Check up a condition of contact surfaces of a flywheel and a frictional disk - they should be absolute, pure and free from cavities, deep scratches and задиров. Minor defects can be eliminated by processing of a surface by a fine-grained emery paper. In more serious cases replace a defective component. Estimate degree неплоскостности a working surface of a press disk. At excess by result of measurement of value in 0.3 mm basket assemblage also is subject to replacement.

11. Check up rotation freedom выжимного the bearing. Estimate a condition of its surface. In case of revealing of deep scratches, cavities, задиров and other damages replace bearing assemblage. On models with coupling of exhaust type the bearing is replaced in gathering with a basket.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. At assemblage make sure of serviceability of a condition of contact surfaces of a frictional disk and a flywheel. From new components carefully remove traces of protective greasing.

2. Develop a frictional disk подпружиненной the party of a nave from a flywheel; on some disks the special marks are provided, allowing to define, what party to its flywheel it is necessary to establish.

3. Establish assemblage of a basket of coupling. At installation of an old basket track combination of the landing labels put in the course of dismantle (the basket is put on three directing pins). Screw fixing bolts and tighten them, while only by hand that there was a possibility of updating of position of assemblage.
4. Now it is necessary to centre a frictional disk that at transmission installation шлицы pins of a primary shaft have got to the centre of a nave of a disk.

5. For centering of a conducted disk pass a screw-driver or other suitable tool in an aperture in an end face of a cranked shaft. Now the frictional disk can be centered in relation to a shaft. It is alternatively possible to take advantage of the special tool that allows to reduce appreciably the time expenses connected with adjustment. The tool can be made in house conditions of a suitable metal core or wooden бруска, densely sitting down in an aperture in an end face of a cranked shaft. In a place продевания a core in a nave it is necessary to reel up an adhesive tape on it, having provided landing density in ступичном an aperture.

6. Having finished a centering of a frictional disk, tighten bolts of fastening of a basket with demanded effort. Operate in a diagonal order, a tightening make in regular intervals, in stages.

7. Slightly grease шлицы naves of a conducted disk of coupling and a primary shaft of a transmission with greasing on a basis дисульфида molybdenum. With the same greasing grease a nest выжимного the bearing and a plug of deenergizing of coupling.
8. Establish into place transmission assemblage (the Manual box of a gear change see).
