9.4.1. Coupling removal

The prevention

At coupling work the dust containing asbestos and unhealthy, therefore is formed do not blow off a dust the compressed air and do not inhale it.

For coupling removal when the engine and a transmission are established in the car, it is necessary to use special tools, however it is possible to take advantage and independently made tools. Before coupling removal attentively read this section.

The coupling design allows to replace a disk of coupling, press a disk, выжимной the bearing and a sealing ring of the directing plug without removal of the engine or a transmission from the car.

1. Tighten a manual brake, then lift a forward part of the car and fix on supports.
2. Unscrew bolts and remove a protective plate from the basis картера couplings.
3. On models to the middle of 1988 unscrew a stopper (it is specified by an arrow in drawing on the right) from a face cover картера transmissions.
4. On later models which do not have stoppers, unscrew a nut and remove the tyre of grounding from a transmission end face.
5. Establish the corresponding container under a cover in a transmission end face, then unscrew bolts and uncover.
6. Note a bolt arrangement, крепящего the grounding tyre.
7. Remove a lining.
8. Using special flat-nose pliers, remove a lock ring from the end of an entrance shaft.
9. Using a 12-faced key (drawing at the left), unscrew a bolt from an end face of an entrance shaft.
10. Take an entrance shaft from a nave of a disk of coupling.
11. For this purpose it is recommended to use special tools № КМ-556-1-А and КМ-556-4, but it is possible to take advantage also of the tools made independently. The tool fastens to an end face of a transmission bolts of fastening of a cover. The sizes of the tool should correspond to transmission type.
12. Alternatively screw in bolt М7 in an end face of an entrance shaft of a transmission (drawing at the left) and for a bolt take a shaft to the terminator (drawing on the right). If the entrance shaft is established very densely in a transmission, for its extraction use an inertial hammer.
13. For coupling removal it is necessary to move press a disk, overcoming resistance диафрагменной springs, otherwise coupling will not pass between a flywheel and an end face картера coupling.
14. For this purpose it is necessary to use the special tool № КМ526-А. If necessary make independently special tool of a steel strip according to drawing. For simplification of installation of independently made tool at tool end faces make facets. The groove on one of tool edges is necessary for passage of a rivet of a press disk.
15. After pressing of a pedal of coupling by the assistant establish clips on edge of a casing of a press disk, inserting disks into apertures on casing perimetre.
16. For uniform installation of clips on perimetre of a press disk of coupling by a wrench for a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a cranked shaft turn gradually cranked shaft.
17. After installation of all clips the assistant should release a coupling pedal.
18. Gradually and consistently ослабьте, and then unscrew completely six bolts of fastening of a leading part of coupling to a flywheel.
19. For access to bolts of fastening of a leading part of coupling to a flywheel consistently turn a cranked shaft of the engine.
20. Note on a flywheel position of the label combined with a groove on картере of coupling.
21. Moving downwards, take knot of coupling from картера couplings. Keep in mind that the frictional disk can drop out at coupling removal.
22. Note position of a frictional disk of coupling. The smaller ledge of a nave should be directed to a flywheel.
23. For removal of clips fix a leading part of coupling in a vice with soft sponges (the arrow specifies an arrangement of the clip established on a press disk of coupling).
