6.2.10. Removal and installation of the fuel pump

At the fuel pump of release since 1988 the plug with carving М6 positive, with carving М5 – negative. The fuel pump has not folding design, therefore at failure it replace.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. On models of release till 1988 to remove the gauge (fig. of the Detail of a fuel tank of cars of release till 1988 see) fuel level to similarly models with carburettor engines (subsection 6.1.9 subitem 1-5 see). To take out the pump from a tank through an aperture under the gauge of level of fuel. 2. To establish the pump upside-down. At installation to watch, that rubber pillows of the pump have risen on pins of the arm located at the bottom of a tank, and spring holders were latched. 3. On models of release since 1988 the special tool is necessary for pump removal (fig. of the Detail of a fuel tank of cars of release after 1988 see) (VAG 3214). To turn it the pump on 15 mm to the left and to take out upwards together with the holder from a tank, having disconnected топливопровод and electricity cables. 4. To establish the pump in a tank so that a label on the holder (fig. the Fuel pump since 1988 see) has coincided with the first label on a fuel tank, as is shown in drawing. To fix the pump, having turned it by means of the special adaptation so that the label on the holder has coincided with the second label on a fuel tank.
