Antifreeze – a protection frame from freezing

THE GENERAL DATA

The system of cooling of the engine within all year is filled by a mix of water with antifreeze and korrozionno-protective components AUDI. This mix interferes with freezing and corrosion of elements of system, and also formation of limy adjournment and raises temperature of boiling of a liquid. Owing to expansion of a cooling liquid at heating in system there is a superfluous pressure which also promotes rise in temperature of boiling of a liquid. Pressure of a liquid is limited to a safety valve, being in a cover of a broad tank which comes off at pressure 1.2 – 1.5 bar. Increase of a boiling point of a liquid is required for reliable functioning of system of cooling of the engine. At low temperature of boiling of a liquid there can be a thermal stagnation owing to what efficiency of circulation of a liquid and engine cooling decreases.

At cars with number of the chassis to �8LVA006233� (release in the end of 1996) is serially applied antifreeze AUDI G11–A8C. To system addition it can be applied G11–A8C or another with a mark “it agree TL–VW 774 C”. A sign of this antifreeze is green colour.

Since chassis number �8LVA006234�, antifreeze G12 is serially applied. To system addition it can be applied G12 or other antifreeze with a mark “it agree TL–VW 774 D”. A sign is red colour.

ATTENTION

Do not mix G11 and G12, it can lead to heavy damages of the engine. The mix has brown colour. It is necessary for removing at once.
Engines, with system of cooling filled with antifreeze G11, can be translated on antifreeze G12. For this purpose it is necessary to merge completely a liquid from cooling system. Then it is necessary to fill system with pure water and to allow to work to the engine within 2 minutes After that water merges from system and it is blown by compressed air through a broad tank that provides full removal of water. Close a stopper and fill system with a new mix of water and antifreeze G12.
It is necessary to apply only a mix water / �G12� AUDI (red colour), even in a warm season. Water should be pure and should not contain to exhaust. In summertime of year the antifreeze maintenance in a cooling liquid also should not be below 40 %. Therefore at water addition in system it is necessary to add also and antifreeze.

In our widths protection against freezing should be provided to temperature-25�S, it is better to-35�S. The antifreeze share cannot exceed 60 % (protection to-40�S). Degree of protection Otherwise decreases and engine cooling worsens.

ATTENTION

Depending on the equipment of the car the volume of a liquid filled in in system can differ from the resulted values.
