AUDI A3 a class “компакт” has been presented on the market in June, 1996.

At length of 4.15 m and a track of 2.51 m, 3-dvernyj А3 are provided with necessary comfort. The luggage carrier has capacity of 350 l, after откидывания backs of a back seat capacity of a luggage carrier increases to 1100 l.

The car is equipped by various means of safety. At models with a forward drive the back suspension bracket with levers and a connecting beam at which for more favorable use of volume screw springs and shock-absorbers are located separately from each other (at previous model is applied amortisation racks) have been applied. The all-wheel drive model has a back suspension bracket with dual cross-section levers.

In the car can be established both petrol, and diesel engines of various capacity that allows to make a corresponding choice depending on economic or sports character of driving of the owner. In the present management the description of all power units is given.

In a management models with рядными four-cylinder petrol engines of 1.6 l (AEH), 1.8 l (AGN, AGU, AQA, AJQ, APY) and diesel engines of 1.9 l (AGR, ALH, AHF, ASZ), front-wheel and with a full drive, release since 1997 are considered

Engines settle down in an impellent compartment cross-section and are suspended on a so-called pendular support which reduces car vibrations in power setting on single turns.

The 4-lever independent forward suspension bracket with the established amortisation racks practically excludes influence of work of the engine on managerial process by the car. At cars with a forward drive the compound lever of a back axis that allows to place in the optimum image independently from each other screw springs and suspension bracket shock-absorbers is applied. The model with a full drive has a back suspension bracket with dual levers.

In the car the five-step manual box of a gear change (РКПП), or four- or five-step automatic transmission (АТ) can be established.
