Removal, installation and tension of a gear belt

THE GENERAL DATA

Check up on deterioration. Before removal mark an arrow a rotation direction. Do not bend a gear belt.

16 – a bolt, 90 Н.м + 1/4 turns
Necessarily replace. The carving and a fillet should not have some greasing. Tighten a bolt the moment 90 Н.м and after that a rigid key tighten on 1/4 turns (90 °). Attention: Доворачивание it is possible to execute in stages.
17 – the bottom cover of a gear belt
18 – a bolt, 10 Н m
19 – a pulley of the pump of the hydraulic booster of a wheel
20 – клиновой a belt
Before removal mark a rotation direction.
21 – a pulley of a cranked shaft/dempfera крутильных fluctuations
Installation is possible only in one position. Apertures in appropriate way are displaced.

15 – a bolt, 90 Н m + 1/4 turns. Necessarily replace. A carving and a fillet oil. For отворачивания and inhalings apply the tool to deduction Audi 3099. At installation of the tool for deduction between the tool and a pulley put two washers. Tighten a bolt the moment 90 Н m and then tighten a rigid key on 1/4 turns (90 °). Attention: Доворачивание it is possible to carry out in stages.
16 – an average cover of a gear belt
17 – a bolt, 10 Н m
18 – ridge клиновой a belt
19 – a pulley of a cranked shaft/dempfer крутильных fluctuations
Installation is possible only in one direction. Apertures are displaced by appropriate amount.
20 – a bolt, 25 Н m

Engines are equipped by automatically working tension roller in a drive of the gear belt, supporting a belt tension always to constants. Thanks to it service life raises and the noise level of a gear belt decreases.

REMOVAL

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove клиновой a belt, thus address to subsection Removal and installation ridge клинового a belt.
2. Turn away a tension element клинового a belt.
3. Establish коленвал in position ВМТ of the end of a step of compression of the piston of the first cylinder, thus address to subsection Installation of the piston of the first cylinder in ВМТ.
4. As the right support of the engine is disconnected, the engine is necessary for suspending on adaptation AUDI-10-222A and 10–222А/1. The adaptation is necessary for establishing on fastening of a wing and will fix hooks for engine eyes.

ATTENTION

If the specified adaptation available is not present, it is necessary to bring the garage lift with a wooden lining under the pallet картера and slightly to raise the engine.


5. Turn away 4 screws with internal шестигранником and remove a pulley (демпфер крутильных fluctuations) from a cranked shaft. The engine is thus kept from проворачивания for the central bolt.
6. Turn away bolts and remove the bottom and top covers of a gear belt.
7. Turn away bolts and remove a broad tank of a cooling liquid and the hydraulic booster tank (are specified by arrows) and take aside with distributive lines.
8. Turn away bolts and disconnect the right support of the engine from a body and at the holder of the engine (are specified by arrows).
9. Turn away bolts and remove the right holder of the engine from the engine (are specified by arrows).

ATTENTION

For a detachment of a forward bolt it is necessary to raise a little the engine by means of the adaptation.


10. Engines of 1.6 l: Turn away a nut of fastening of a tension roller of a gear belt.
The engine of 1.8 l
11. Screw a hairpin–1 М5х55 in the device of a tension of a gear belt.
12. Screw a nut–2 with the big washer–3 on a hairpin–1.
The rod of the device of a tension should be pulled until rod and case apertures that will allow to insert a core in diameter of 1.5 mm, a drill or шплинт (an arrow on an accompanying illustration) will coincide. Now the rod is fixed, and the gear belt is unloaded.

13. Remove a gear belt.

ATTENTION

After removal of a gear belt do not change position of distributive and cranked shaft. If it is necessary to turn a camshaft at the removed gear belt, watch that the cranked shaft was not in ВМТ. Otherwise there is a danger of damage of valves and the piston bottom. For this purpose mark position of a pulley of a cranked shaft, having put to marks paint on a pulley of a cranked shaft and the block of cylinders. Then turn forward or back a pulley of a cranked shaft on 1/4 turns (90 °).



INSTALLATION

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. At a tension of a gear belt the engine should be cold.
2. Put on a gear belt cogwheels of a cranked shaft and the pump of a cooling liquid.

ATTENTION

If the old belt is established, necessarily observe a direction of its rotation. Belt installation in other position can lead to its breakage and, as consequence, to engine damage. Therefore gear belts necessarily establish so that an arrow put at removal of a belt, specified in a direction of rotation of the engine. The engine, looking on the right side of the car, rotates in an hour hand direction.


3. Be convinced that marks on wheels of cranked and distributive shaft coincide with position of marks ВМТ. The engine is thus in position ВМТ of the piston of the first cylinder.
4. Establish into place the bottom cover of a gear belt and fix it.
5. Fix a pulley of a cranked shaft the moment 25 Н m. the Remark: the Pulley is established only in one position. Check up, that it was fixed.
6. Put on a gear belt a tension roller and a camshaft wheel.
The engine of 1.6 l
7. Check up position of a tension roller: the clamp (an arrow on an accompanying illustration) should enter into a groove on a head of cylinders. Otherwise turn the holder.
8. Turn a tension roller for the clown a screw-driver, for example, HAZET 2587 to the left (an arrow direction) so that a notch–1 and the index–2 stood opposite. For the control it is possible to take advantage of a mirror if necessary. In this position tighten a nut the moment 20 Н m.
9. Turn the engine on 2 turns in a direction of rotation and again stop in position ВМТ of marks of a camshaft. It is thus important, that the last 45 ° have been turned without a stop.
10. Check up position of a notch–1 and the index–2, they should be opposite each other. Otherwise it is necessary to establish a tension roller again.
The engine of 1.8 l
11. Take out a lock core (the marksman on an accompanying illustration) and turn out a carving pin–1. The rod at a press element watches a correct tension of a gear belt.
All engines
12. Turn the engine twice and check up position ВМТ of distributive and cranked shaft. All marks at the tense gear belt should coincide. Otherwise again remove a gear belt and repeat adjustment.
13. Establish the top cover of a gear belt.
14. Fix the right holder of the engine the moment 45 Н m.
15. Fix the right support of the engine on a body and the holder of the engine new bolts the moments presented in Specifications. Thus all bolts at first tighten динамометрическим a key, and then tighten a rigid key on a corner 90 ° (1/4 turns).

ATTENTION

Bolts at an inhaling receive a residual extract. Therefore after each inhaling it is necessary to apply new bolts.

17. Fix a tension element клинового a belt the moment 20 Н m.
18. Establish клиновой a belt, thus address to subsection Removal and installation ridge клинового a belt.
19. Fix a broad tank of system of cooling and the tank of a liquid of the hydraulic booster of a wheel.
