Start and charge systems

The general information

Start and charge systems are the main components of system of an electric equipment of the engine. As work of the given systems is directly connected with engine functioning, they are considered separately from an other onboard electric equipment, such as lighting devices, monitors etc., which the Chapter the Onboard electric equipment is devoted separately. The information on system of ignition of petrol models is stated in section ignition System - petrol models. The system of preheat of diesel engines is considered in section preheat System - diesel models.

The rated voltage of onboard power supplies of the car equals 12 V.Zazemlenie is organised on a negative pole.
Not requiring storage battery placed in the tight case service which additional charge is made from the generator of an alternating current with a belt drive from a pulley of a cranked shaft enters into a standard complete set of all models.

The starter is executed under the scheme with preliminary gearing and equipped by the built in traction relay. At engine start плунжер the relay moves into position and enters a leading gear wheel of a starter into gearing with a gear wreath of a flywheel till the moment of giving of a food on the device electromotor. The leading gear wheel of a starter is equipped обгонной муфтой, providing protection of the electromotor from проворачивания at excess by turns of the engine of admissible value.

At service of components of systems of an electric equipment it is necessary to observe special safety measures in order to avoid risk of failure of semi-conductor elements, and also for the purpose of prevention of reception of traumas.

Starting electric equipment service, necessarily remove a watch, rings and other metal ornaments. Even at the disconnected battery the category of condensers by casual grounding of their plugs can lead to reception of an electric shock or a strong burn.

Do not suppose polarity infringement at battery connection. In structure of such components as the generator or electronic blocks of management enter semi-conductor elements which can be put out of action at wrong connection of wires.

Never disconnect electroconducting from the battery, the generator or the diagnostic equipment at the working engine.

Do not suppose проворачивания the engine of the disconnected generator.

At all do not make stock-taking of a target signal of the generator by grounding of its plugs.

Do not apply to conductivity stock-taking in a chain the ohmmeters equipped manual dynamo-car.

At performance of any works on electric equipment service watch, that the negative wire has been disconnected from the battery.

Before use of electroarc welding without fail disconnect the battery, the generator and such components, as ECU systems of a food/ignition in order to avoid risk of their damage.
