5.7.2. The gauge of the index of temperature of a cooling liquid
THE GENERAL DATA

Pressure giving to the gauge of temperature of a cooling liquid is made from the panel of devices through the lock of ignition and the fuse.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The gauge is located in a head of the block of cylinders behind the water pump on engines of 1,2 l, in an inlet collector on engines of 1,3 and 1,4 l and in a thermostat casing on engines 1,6, 1,8 and 2,0 l. The gauge represents термистор which electric resistance decreases at temperature increase.
2. On the cold engine high and the electric current through the index of temperature does not pass resistance of the gauge, therefore its arrow is on value of low temperature.
3. If the index of temperature does not show engine temperature, first of all check up electric chains of the gauge. Also check up pressure giving in an electric chain of the gauge. If the arrow of the index randomly twitches, indistinct giving of pressure or giving of not stabilised pressure can take place. Thus it is necessary to replace the stabilizer. If there are suspicions that the temperature index does not work, check up it as follows.
4. If the arrow of the index shows low temperature of the engine, disconnect from the temperature gauge an electric socket and connect it to weight. If thus the arrow of the index deviates at the included ignition, means, the gauge of temperature is faulty and it is necessary to replace it. If the arrow of the index does not move, remove a combination of devices and check up an electric chain between the gauge and the index, and also pressure giving to the index. If the electric chain is serviceable, means, the index of temperature is faulty and it is necessary to replace it.
5. If the temperature index shows all time a heat, disconnect an electric socket from the gauge. If thus the arrow of the index moves to a zone of cold temperature at the included ignition, means, the gauge of temperature is faulty and it is necessary to replace it.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Partially merge cooling liquid from system of cooling below level of installation of the gauge, or have a suitable stopper it is necessary for them to close an aperture after вывинчивания the gauge.
2. Remove a wire of weight from the accumulator.
3. Disconnect from the gauge an electric socket and unscrew the gauge.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before ввинчиванием the gauge put on a gauge carving a thin layer of hermetic.
2. Screw in the gauge into place and connect to it an electric socket.
3. Fill in cooling liquid in cooling system.
4. In summary start the engine and check up work of the gauge of the index of temperature. Check up cooling system on presence of leaks.
