 If necessity for removal of wheels is absent, the car can be tired out on a viewing hole or a platform.

Entering into a standard complete set of the car the jack is intended only for performance of procedures of change of wheels. At carrying out of any other repair or preventive works the car should be lifted by means of hydraulic (or тележечного) a jack and it is obligatory to establish on the special props got under bearing points of the bottom (regular домкратные points).

At all do not get a jack under car thresholds, the pallet картера, panels of a floor or it is direct under components of a steering drive or a suspension bracket! Do not make any repair work under the car fixed in lifted position by means of only one jack! Necessarily use reliable props!

The spare wheel fastens in a special niche under the panel of a floor of a luggage space, the jack is fixed in the special pocket equipped with a cover in the right lateral panel of furnish, in the same place is usually stored and баллонный a key.  On models Outback the spare wheel is equipped by the special holder serving for simplification of procedure of its extraction from a niche, - do not forget to dismantle a holder and to rearrange it on the removed punched wheel.


For jack extraction open a side pocket cover, then, rotating counter-clockwise, release the jack screw.


Get a jack under the car. Take care of reliability of input of a head of a jack in gearing. Rotating the jack handle, lift the car so that the wheel subject to replacement has come off the earth. Having thrown off fixing nuts, remove a wheel and establish on its place spare, preliminary having cleared of a dirt a nave and an internal surface of a wheel disk. Screw wheel nuts, then lower the car on the earth, clean a jack and hold on nuts of fastening of a wheel in a diagonal order with demanded effort (78 ÷ 98 Nanometers). Establish into place a cap. Combine and clean the tool. Do not forget to clean противооткатные boots. Track reliability of fixing of the wheel removed from the car.

At поддомкрачивании the car for the purpose of its fixing in the lifted position at performance of more serious, than replacement of a wheel, repair work the head of a hydraulic jack should be got under a forward stretcher or картер differential of a back axis. For the purpose of loading distribution between a head of a jack and a surface домкратной the wooden block makes sense to lay points. Towage

Strictly speaking, the emergency vehicle equipped with a full drive (AWD), automatic transmission (АТ) and VTD it is necessary to tow with a full separation of wheels from the earth on a platform эвакуатора.

 Towage all-wheel drive (AWD) models with a separation from the earth of only forward or back wheels can lead to that the car owing to rotation of interaxal differential will make an involuntary turn, besides, at such towage loading on differential that is fraught with premature deterioration of internal components of the last appreciably raises!


As already it was told above, is better to carry out transportation of the failed 4WD-car with a full separation of wheels from the earth. At car installation on a platform эвакуатора it is necessary to include the first transfer (models with РКПП) / or to translate the selector lever in position «Р» (models with АТ) to cock a lay brake and it is reliable to fix safety chains. Watch, that chains have not been tense too strongly as it will lead to excessive compression of elements of a suspension bracket and is fraught with destruction of the last at jolting during movement.  Transportation of the car with the failed transmission should be made only with a full separation of wheels from the earth on a platform эвакуатора!


It is in a special emergency supposed to make towage of an emergency vehicle without a separation from the earth of all four wheels.


 Make sure that the towing car is heavier towed.


Use at towage only towing sling specially intended for this purpose which can be got cheaply practically in any shop of automobile accessories. The sling should cling only to eyes specially intended for this purpose which at all should not be confused with safety скобами.

 


 Do not make towage of emergency vehicles by a backing.


Do not forget to turn a key in the lock of ignition of the towed car in position ON, otherwise inevitably there will be a blocking of a steering column. Besides, at the included ignition indexes of turns and stoplights are activated also.
Remember that at the switched off engine efficiency of braking of the car considerably decreases because the vacuum amplifier of brakes ceases to function. The driver of a towed vehicle should try keep constantly a towing sling in the tense position in order to avoid jerks and arrivals on it wheels.

Before a start of motion drivers of both vehicles (towing and towed) should co-ordinate among themselves a route.

Movement should be carried out only with moderate speeds, on the shortest route and observance ПДД. Avoid sharp braking, accelerations and maneuvering.
