For a complete set of models of cars considered in the present Management are used a 5-step manual box of a gear change (РКПП), or 4-step automatic transmission (АТ).

In the present Chapter manual boxes of a gear change are considered.

In view of complexity of design РКПП, absence on free sale of necessary replaceable internal components and necessity of use of the special equipment, composers of the present Management do not recommend to owners of cars to carry out transmission major repairs independently. Repair РКПП in the conditions of a car-care centre workshop is enough expensive operation, in a kind of that, it is necessary to consider alternative variants of replacement of the failed block new or restored. Any helpful information on repair and transmission replacement can be received on company Subaru car repair shops.

Without dependence from the chosen way of elimination of problems (repair or replacement), independent dismantle of a box from the car will allow to reduce material inputs essentially. The scheme of installation of transmission in an impellent compartment is presented on an illustration.

РКПП without an additional two-level reducer H/L has a design with a constant drive on all wheels and unites in itself transmission assemblage, forward differential and assemblage of a distributing box with interaxal differential. Transmission provides possibility of a choice from five lobbies and one back transfers, редукционные steams of each of which are equipped by synchronizers with inertial sliding keys.

Transmissionnaja assemblage and forward differential are placed in two-section aluminium картер, divided on the left and right half. Boxes consolidating the case картеры a distributing box and check point lengthening in which behind settle down the distributing mechanism and interaxal differential are concluded a part трансмиссионной assemblages.

Gelikoidalnye gear wheels of forward transfers differ high superficial durability of teeths with the big contact stain of gearing providing a low noise working background.

The reverse gear choice is carried out by simultaneous interface of a sliding intermediate gear wheel of a backing to a leading gear wheel of a reverse gear on primary to a shaft and with a conducted gear wheel of the reverse gear equipped with a nave of the synchronizer of switching 1/2 on shaft of a leading gear wheel of the main transfer.

The interaxal differential provides indemnification of a difference of speeds of rotation of forward and back axes and consists of the conic gear wheels placed in the general case and established behind вязкостной муфты. The differential complete with pair gear wheels of the distributing mechanism provides transfer of a twisting moment from transmission on a shaft of a leading gear wheel of the main transfer of a forward axis of the car and on back карданный a shaft. Вязкостная муфта plays a role of an element of management of differential functioning.

РКПП with an additional two-level reducer H/L

Application in РКПП a 2-step reducer established over primary shaft H/L allows to change the general transfer relation of a box by a choice of a raising or lowering mode. Boxes of this kind sometimes name also 10-step.

 Switching of modes can be made even at movement with the squeezed out pedal of coupling.


The design the basic трансмиссионной assemblages with lengthening, a distributing box, interaxal differential and the main transfer is similar described above for РКПП usual type (the previous subsection see).

For the purpose of decrease in level of a noise background at coupling switchings the conducted gear wheel of 1st transfer on a shaft of a leading gear wheel of the main transfer is supplied by an additional gear ring.

In raising (Hi) a mode шлицы connecting муфты Hi/Lo are in gearing with шлицами the entrance gear wheel of a raising range directly connected to primary shaft and rotating with it with identical speed. Thus transfer of a twisting moment from the engine goes under the following scheme: an entrance shaft — an entrance gear wheel of a raising range — connecting муфта Hi/Lo — synchronizer "Hi/Lo" nave — a primary shaft.

In lowering (Lo) a mode шлицы connecting муфты Hi/Lo are in gearing with шлицами the entrance gear wheel of a lowering range consolidated with primary shaft. The following scheme of transfer of a twisting moment is thus realised: an entrance shaft — an intermediate gear wheel — an entrance gear wheel of a lowering range — connecting муфта Hi/Lo with a synchronizer nave — a primary shaft.
