Check and adjustment of turns of idling and prevention spontaneous останова the engine

THROUGH EACH 20 000 KM (12 000 MILES) RUN

The tachometres of usual type working from pulse signals of system of ignition on diesel engines are not applicable. The special socket serves for connection of firm diagnostic equipment Citroёn, for the clear reasons of the average mechanic-fan absent in an arsenal. At occurrence of suspicions on infringement of installation of turns of idling (on hearing) it is necessary to try to get a special tachometre, or to drive away the car on a car repair shop of the firm service-centre of company Citroyon.

Before to start adjustments the engine it is necessary to warm up to normal working temperature. Make sure of correctness of adjustments of cables of gas and management of turns of fast idling (the Power supply system - diesel models see).

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Establish an adjusting washer of a demanded thickness (Specifications see) between a control lever of the pump and the screw of adjustment of turns of prevention spontaneous останова the engine (see an illustration of Adjustment ТНВД of manufacture of company Lucas).
2. Delay the lever manual останова the engine back against the stop and fix it in this position, having passed a 3-millimetric core (the drill of the corresponding diameter will approach) through an aperture in a control lever turns of fast idling.
3. Engine turns should accept the value corresponding to frequency предотвращениясамопроизвольного останова (Specifications see).
4. In case of need updating performance ослабьте a counternut of the screw (4) (see an illustration of Adjustment ТНВД of manufacture of company Lucas) and start to rotate in a corresponding direction, achieving satisfactory result. On termination of adjustment do not forget to tighten a counternut.
5. Take a lock core (drill) and an adjusting washer and make sure that engine turns have decreased to single (Specifications see).
6. In case of need ослабьте a counternut of the screw of adjustment of turns of idling also make necessary updating, rotating last in a corresponding direction. Having achieved satisfactory result, tighten a counternut.
7. Having shifted a pump control lever, lift frequency of rotation of the engine to value of 3000 rpm, then quickly release the lever. Duration деселерации should make from 2.5 till 3.5 seconds, and frequency of rotation of the engine should fall to value on approximately to 50 rpm below the single.
8. If деселерация there is too quickly, and an engine глохнет, turn out the adjusting screw of prevention spontaneous останова on a turn quarter in a control lever direction. Too slow деселерация reduces efficiency of braking by the engine. In this case it is necessary to return the adjusting screw, on the contrary, on a turn quarter, having taken away it from the lever.
9. Having finished adjustment do not forget to tighten a counternut, then once again check up installation of turns of idling, in case of need adjust them repeatedly (see above).
10. On the engine working on single turns check up serviceability of functioning of the lever manual останова, having turned it clockwise (the Power supply system - diesel models see). The engine should decay at once.
11. Disconnect a tachometre.

Models without a turbo-supercharging

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Loosen the a counternut also turn out the adjusting screw of turns of prevention spontaneous останова the engine so that it left contact to a pump control lever (see an illustration of Adjustment ТНВД of manufacture of company Bosch).
2. Loosen the a counternut and rotation of the screw of adjustment of turns of idling make necessary updating. Do not forget to tighten a counternut again.
3. Fill an adjusting washer or an edge probeа a corresponding thickness (Specifications see) between a control lever the pump and the screw of turns of prevention spontaneous останова.
4. Start the engine on single turns. Frequency of its rotation should appear equal to the value corresponding for turns of prevention spontaneous останова.
5. In case of need ослабьте a counternut and rotation of the screw (5) (see an illustration of Adjustment ТНВД of manufacture of company Bosch) make corresponding updating (Specifications see).
6. Take an adjusting washer/shchup and allow to fall an engine turn to the single.
7. Shift a control lever turns of fast idling against the stop forward and make sure that frequency of rotation of the engine has risen to the value stipulated for fast idling (Specifications see). In case of need ослабьте a counternut and rotation of the adjusting screw (1) make corresponding updating. Not to tighten a counternut.
8. On the engine working on single turns check up serviceability of functioning of the lever manual останова, having turned it clockwise (the Power supply system - diesel models see). The engine should decay at once.
9. Disconnect a tachometre.

Models with a turbo-supercharging

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Execute the procedures described in subsection "Models without турбонадува", subitem 1-6.

2. Loosen the a counternut also turn out the adjusting screw демпфера a control lever, located behind the last.

3. Fill an adjusting washer or an edge probeа between a rod демпфера and the adjusting screw. Make sure that the pump control lever occupies the position corresponding to single turns of the engine, then rotation of the adjusting screw achieve, that the washer/shchup with easy resistance sliped in a backlash between the screw and a rod. Fix the screw in this position, strongly having tightened a counternut.

4. Execute the procedures described in section "Models without турбонадува", subitem 6-9.
