12.16.2. Repair of a steering column

THE GENERAL DATA

Elements of a steering column without adjustment of an angle of slope

1 – the button of a sound signal, 2 – a steering wheel, 3 – knot of a cam, 4 – a spring, 5 – the switch of illumination and turns, 6 – the switch стеклоомывателя and a screen wiper, 7 – the holder of switches, 8 – the bearing, 9 – the bottom casing of a steering column,

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove a steering column from the car. 2. Using a screw-driver edge as the lever, release clamps of a casing of the lock of ignition, then turn a casing counter-clockwise and remove it from a steering column. 3. For removal of the bearing from a casing of the lock of ignition release two clamps of the bearing and, using tubular оправку, established on an external ring of the bearing, beat out the bearing. At installation of the new bearing check up that the persistent washer and a fixing spring are correctly established. 4. Unscrew screws with a secret head and remove a casing of the lock of ignition. Do not remove simultaneously the switch and the cylinder of the lock of ignition to keep their relative positioning. 5. If the steering column is established in the car, unscrew top tightening a bolt of fastening elastic муфты to a steering shaft. 6. Take a steering shaft from a steering column. 7. Temporarily establish a plastic centering washer in the bottom part of a pipe of a steering column. 8. Establish a steering shaft in a pipe of a steering column. 9. If the steering column is established in the car, connect a steering shaft with elastic муфтой and screw in top tightening a bolt of fastening elastic муфты, but do not tighten it definitively. 10. Will put the lock of ignition and fix its screws with a secret head. 11. Establish a casing of the lock of ignition with new clamps. 12. If the steering column is established in the car, move a steering shaft upwards against the stop and tighten tightening a bolt of fastening elastic муфты. 13. Check up that forward wheels of the car are established in position for movement directly forward, and the top bolt of fastening elastic муфты is located in horizontal position. 14. The further assemblage is made in sequence, return dismantling. 15. Establish a steering wheel.
