The prevention

Before performance of works prepare two bolts with a carving 6х1 mm and length 16–20 mm which will be used at dismantling as auxiliary (see more low).


Removal
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Uncover heads of cylinders (subsection 3.1.4 see).
2. Establish the piston of 1st cylinder in ВМТ a compression step. Be convinced that dot labels on leading and conducted gear wheels of cam-shafts are combined and located on one line with a demountable plane of a head of cylinders and covers.
3. Otherwise check up that with zero division of a scale it is combined risk ВМТ коленвала and turn коленвал on 1 turn.
4. Measure axial люфт each of cam-shafts. For check axial люфта displace a cam-shaft back, establish the indicator on a zero then displace a cam-shaft forward. If люфт exceeds maximum permissible a cam-shaft and (or) a head of the block of cylinders are subject to replacement.
5. Remove the ignition distributor if it is provided (see subsection 11.5).
6. Turn away bolts натяжителя chains (arrow).
7. Remove натяжитель chains.
8. Designate a link of a chain opposite to a dot label.
9. Turn away an asterisk bolt, keeping a cam-shaft a key. Remove a gear wheel of a drive of the distributor.
10. Cautiously remove an asterisk and a chain from a cam-shaft and leave them on directing to a chain.
Cam-shaft of final valves
11. At first remove a cam-shaft of final valves, preliminary having fixed a spring of an auxiliary gear wheel.

The prevention

Cam-shafts remove one after another, keeping their parallelism of a plane of a head of cylinders. Otherwise breakage of a head of cylinders is possible.


12. For spring fixing turn a cam-shaft so that the technological aperture under an auxiliary bolt has been turned vertically upwards.
13. Attach an auxiliary gear wheel to the main gear wheel in advance prepared bolt with carving М6 and length 15–20 mm.
14. On engines till 1998 turn away a bolt and remove a distributor gear wheel.
15. Displace a cam-shaft back, gradually and in regular intervals turn away bolts of a cover of necks of cam-shaft N1 (fig. Sequence of removal of covers of a cam-shaft see).
16. Cautiously turn away bolts of other necks of a cam-shaft, watching uniformity of a raising of a cam-shaft. If the cam-shaft is released with a warp turn bolts of cover N3 and, supporting a cam-shaft for a gear wheel, gradually release bolts.
Cam-shaft of inlet valves
17. Displace a cam-shaft forward, gradually and in regular intervals turn away bolts of a cover of necks of cam-shaft N1 (fig. Sequence of removal of covers of a cam-shaft see).
18. Cautiously turn away bolts of other necks of a cam-shaft, watching uniformity of a raising of a cam-shaft. If the cam-shaft is released with a warp turn bolts of an average cover (N3) and, supporting a cam-shaft for a gear wheel, gradually release bolts.
19. Remove a cam-shaft of inlet valves.
20. Wipe from oil adjusting washers of pushers, put labels a marker and remove pushers and adjusting washers.
21. Store covers of basic necks, pushers and washers in that order in which these details have been established.

Check
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Clamp an inlet cam-shaft in a vice with soft sponges for шестигранную a neck.
2. A key with two persistent pins turn an auxiliary gear wheel clockwise, then turn away an auxiliary bolt, крепящий the main and auxiliary gear wheel, and cautiously weaken effort, giving the chance to an auxiliary gear wheel to turn counter-clockwise, to a spring outright release.
3. Take a lock ring of an auxiliary gear wheel.
4. Cнимите a spring washer (1), an auxiliary gear wheel (2) and a spring of an auxiliary gear wheel (3).
5. Measure distance between the ends of a spring of an auxiliary gear wheel in a free condition and compare to the standard. If the distance differs from standard a spring replace.
6. Check up a condition of pushers. Presence having chopped off and deep development it is not supposed.
7. Check up presence on basic necks and cams of a cam-shaft of wear tracks – grooves, poles, наволакивания metal and overheat traces (sites of bluish colour, or the painted sites). Check up presence on each cam отслоения the tempered layer.
8. Measure the size of each cam of a cam-shaft and compare to the standard. If the size at least one cam less standard a cam-shaft replace.
9. Measure diameter of basic necks of a cam-shaft and compare to the standard. If diameter at least one basic neck less standard a cam-shaft replace.
10. Check up backlashes in basic necks for each cam-shaft, having arrived as follows.
11. Clear basic necks of a cam-shaft and a cover of basic necks in solvent.
12. Cautiously lay a cam-shaft () in a head of the block of cylinders without pushers, adjusting washers and an auxiliary gear wheel. Oil presence on necks is not supposed.
13. Across each basic neck of a cam-shaft lay pieces plastic калибровочной a wire.
14. Establish covers of basic necks of cam-shafts so that arrows have been directed towards a gear belt.
15. Tighten bolts with the set moment turning each bolt on 1/4 turns at one time.

The prevention

Turn of a cam-shaft with the inserted plastic calibre is not supposed.


16. Turn away bolts and remove covers.
17. Compare width of the crushed wire (in the widest place) to a scale on packing.
18. If the backlash at least in one of necks exceeds norm a cam-shaft and (or) a head of the block of cylinders are subject to replacement.
19. Соскребите a nail or a credit card the plastic rests, thus do not scratch a basic neck or an internal surface of a cover.
20. At temporarily established covers of basic necks check up a backlash in gearing of gear wheels of cam-shafts. Keeping a key one of cam-shafts for шестигранную a neck, check up size of moving of a gear wheel of other cam-shaft. Result compare to the standard. If a backlash above norm both cam-shafts replace.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Cam-shaft of inlet valves
1. Grease and establish pushers and adjusting washers on former places, preliminary having greased молибденовой with greasing.
2. The top bolts of fastening картера couplings to the block of cylinders.
3. Grease молибденовой with greasing basic necks and cam-shaft cams. Grease a persistent part of a cam-shaft of inlet valves.
4. Establish a cam-shaft of inlet valves in a head of cylinders so that the adjusting pin (1) has been turned upwards.
5. Displace a cam-shaft forward and establish covers of basic necks on former places, observing numbering and orientation of arrows which should be directed towards a gear belt.
6. Tighten, observing sequence (fig. the Order of an inhaling of bolts of covers of basic necks of a cam-shaft of inlet valves see), bolts of covers before contact with a head of cylinders. Definitively bolts do not tighten.
7. Tighten all bolts with the set moment.
Cam-shaft of final valves
8. Collect a cam-shaft of final valves with springs and an auxiliary gear wheel, fix all details a lock ring.
9. Grease and establish pushers and adjusting washers on former places, preliminary having greased молибденовой with greasing.
10. Grease молибденовой with greasing basic necks and cam-shaft cams.
11. Combine labels (2) on gear wheels of cam-shafts. The adjusting pin (1) final cam-shafts should be turned upwards.
12. It is necessary to consider that the design timing does not suppose the considered engine on traction connections. Bolts of covers should be tightened in this position, then the cam-shaft should be turned back to establish in the position corresponding ВМТ in which contact surfaces adjoin in regular intervals, without obstacles from efforts of the springs operating on cams.
13. Turn a final cam-shaft on inlet and establish into place. Turn a cam-shaft in both parties to provide correct landing in bearings.
14. Displace a cam-shaft forward and establish covers of basic necks on former places, observing numbering and orientation of arrows which should be directed towards a gear belt.
15. Tighten, observing sequence, bolts of covers before contact with a head of cylinders (fig. the Order of an inhaling of bolts of covers of basic necks of a cam-shaft of final valves see). Definitively bolts do not tighten.
16. Tighten all bolts with the set moment in some stages.
17. Turn cam-shafts so that the auxiliary bolt has appeared above and turn out a bolt. Be convinced of smoothness of rotation of cam-shafts.
18. Combine labels on gear wheels. Be convinced that risk ВМТ of a pulley коленвала it is combined with ВМТ.
19. Establish a chain with an asterisk, having checked up coincidence of labels.
20. Dress a distributor gear wheel, tighten a bolt.
21. Take away a safety lock натяжителя and move плунжер.
22. Fix плунжер, having put on a hook.
23. Turn коленвал that the hook has descended from a pin плунжера.
24. If плунжер does not leave, press a boot натяжителя and release a hook плунжера.
25. Establish натяжитель, having replaced a lining.

26. Further installation is carried out upside-down. If necessary adjust valves and the ignition moment (subsection 11.6 see).
