6.2.7. Removal and installation of the fuel pump
Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Models 1,4, 1,6 and later of 2,0 l (since 1990 with 8th valves)

1. The fuel pump is located in a fuel tank. Remove a wire of weight from the accumulator.

2. Remove pressure in fuel system. Remove, then establish again a cover of a jellied mouth for pressure alignment in a fuel tank with the atmospheric.

3. Incline forward a pillow of back sitting, move back a floor covering under sitting, then uncover a floor for access to fastening of the fuel pump.

4. Mark and disconnect electric sockets from the fuel pump.

5. Loosen the a collar also remove a hose of giving of fuel from the fuel pump.

6. Close the end of a hose a suitable stopper.

7. Unscrew screws of fastening of an arm of the fuel pump, then take an arm together with the fuel pump from a fuel tank. Note an arrangement of a sealing ring and remove it. Using improvised materials, close an aperture in a fuel tank for installation of the fuel pump.

Models 1,8 and 2,0 l, except later models (about 1990 2,0 l with 8th valves)

8. The fuel pump is established on an arm before a fuel tank. Remove a wire of weight from the accumulator.

9. Using clips, press fuel hoses from two parties of the fuel pump for reduction of losses of fuel after a detachment of hoses.

10. Loosen the collars also remove fuel hoses from the fuel pump.

11. Loosen the a bolt of fastening of a clip also take the fuel pump from the rubber plug. Disconnect an electric socket from the fuel pump.

12. Alternatively fuel pump can be removed together with the fuel filter and гасителем fluctuations.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Models 1,4, 1,6 and later (since 1990) 2,0 l with 8th valves

1. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. At installation use a new sealing ring. Before installation check up a condition of the filter of the fuel pump and if it is polluted or damaged, replace it.

Models 1,8 and 2,0 l, except later models (about 1990 2,0 l with 8th valves)

2. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. Check up reliability of a tightening of collars, крепящих fuel hoses.

3. Start the engine and check up fuel system on presence of leaks. In the presence of fuel leaks immediately switch off the engine and eliminate the leak reason.
