Control system of speed (темпостат) - the device and a functioning principle

The general information

 Models of cars considered in the present Management are equipped by system of additional safety (SRS). Before to start performance of any works near to the block of a pillow of safety, a steering column or the instrument panel, disconnect SRS in order to avoid reception of traumas at its casual operation (the Section System of additional safety (SRS) - the device and a functioning principle see)! Electroconducting of chain SRS is easy for distinguishing on yellow colour of isolation.


Темпостат provides automatic deduction of cruiser speed of movement of the car at the level chosen by the driver.

 At car movement under a bias or uphill a high-speed mode can change.


The scheme of placing of the basic operating components темпостата

At activation темпостата, the module of management of system starts to compare the data which is given out by the gauge of speed (models with РКПП)/TCM (models with АТ) with chosen by the driver at activation темпостата уками. On the basis of results of comparison the module develops the correcting commands transferred to an actuation mechanism established in an impellent compartment темпостата, directly operating a drive throttle заслонки. Keeping of the chosen cruiser high-speed mode

If actual speed of the car in time present situation exceeds entered into memory of the module of management adjusting value, the management module темпостата by means of activation of the built in servomotor of an actuation mechanism carries out прикрывание throttle заслонки, providing demanded decrease in speed of movement of the car. The same scheme will be involved in an opposite situation when current speed is insufficient, in the opposite direction, providing due приоткрывание a throttle.

The mechanism of a choice of a cruiser high-speed mode

Отжимание the combined operating switch темпостата in position «SET/COAST» in position «ON» the main switch темпостата at movement of the car with a speed not less than 40 km/h (25 miles/ch) lead to current giving on an actuation mechanism of a control system in the speed. Activation муфты actuation mechanism couplings leads to start drive the electromotor providing deducing throttle заслонки in position, corresponding to current position of a pedal of gas therefore the car starts to move with the constant cruiser speed equal to speed which it had at the moment of system activation.

Acceleration/braking

Отжимание the operating switch in position «RESUME/ACCEL» at the activated control system of speed leads to time acceleration of the car for the account приоткрывания throttle заслонки, - at release the switch there should be a return to cruiser speed of movement.

Temporary dump of speed at the expense of braking by the engine is made by keeping of the operating switch wrung out in position «SET/COAST» (with return to the chosen cruiser speed at release the switch).

 At decrease in speed of movement of the car below 32 km/h (20 miles/ch) темпостат it should be disconnected automatically.


Return to the installations chosen earlier after time switching-off темпостата

Return to the installations of a cruiser high-speed mode chosen earlier after time switching-off темпостата is made by отжимания the operating switch in position «RESUME/ACCEL».

 Current speed of movement of the car at the moment of a call of installations should make not less than 32 km/h (20 miles/ch).


It is necessary to remember that transfer of the main switch темпостата in position «OFF», no less than ignition deenergizing leads to deleting before entered into memory of the module of management темпостата installations.

Switching-off темпостата

Deactivation темпостата can be made any of listed below ways:

a) Squeezing of a pedal of the foot brake, leading to activation of the gauge-switch of stops-signals/braking;
b) Squeezing of a pedal of coupling (model with РКПП), leading to activation of the corresponding gauge-switch;
c) Transfer of the lever of the selector in position «N» (models with РКПП), leading to activation of the gauge-switch of the permission of start;
d) Otzhimanie of the operating switch темпостата in position «CANCEL»;
e) ignition Deenergizing;
f) Transfer of the main switch темпостата in position «OFF» (Vykl).

High-speed restrictions

At decrease in speed of movement of the car below a mark of 32 km/h (20 miles/ch) there is an automatic switching-off темпостата, - the system can work effectively enough only at speeds of movement not below 40 km/h.

The mechanism of updating of involuntary acceleration/braking

When as a result of involuntary dispersal of the car (for example, at movement under a bias) current speed starts to exceed a preset value more than on 10 km/h (6 miles/ch), the management module темпостата makes necessary updating at the expense of switching-off муфты actuation mechanism couplings.

At involuntary reduction of a high-speed mode (for example, at movement uphill) more than on 8 km/h (5 miles/ch) concerning adjusting value demanded updating is made at the expense of activation муфты actuation mechanism couplings.

Actuation mechanism

At reception of a corresponding signal from the management module inclusion муфты the actuation mechanism couplings, providing activation of the step-by-step servomotor directly connected with throttle заслонкой is made. The actuation mechanism design is presented on an illustration.

 

The main switch

By means of the main switch management of food giving on the management module темпостата is made. The switch is equipped by the built in control lamp and an illumination lamp.

 Ignition switching-off leads to machine translation of the main switch темпостата in position «OFF» (Выкл).


 

The combined operating switch

 

The combined operating switch has a self-returnable lever design and is located on steering wheel assemblage that allows the driver to carry out demanded switchings without coming off driving. Corresponding contacts of the switch remain in the closed condition until the lever is kept wrung out in any of working positions, at release the lever the switch automatically comes back in a base position. Procrastination of the lever of the switch on the driver leads to its transfer in position «CANCEL» when signals «RESUME/ACCEL» and «SET/COAST» are sent on the management module simultaneously.

The gauge of speed of movement (VSS)

VSS it is established on картере transmissions and (on models with РКПП) provides the management module темпостата with the information on current speed of movement of a vehicle.

Drive throttle заслонки

Throttle заслонка it is equipped by two приводными cams, to one of which the cable of gas connected to a pedal of an accelerator while the second serves for connection drive an actuation mechanism cable темпостата fastens.

Both cams function independently from each other, otherwise, moving of one not necessarily involves moving of the second.

The management module

The management module темпостата is located in the bottom part of the right forward rack and provides a complete control of functioning of a control system in the speed, being based the analysis of the data arriving from corresponding information gauges and gauges-switches.

Function of emergency switching-off

 Repeated deactivation темпостата after its emergency switching-off on any of the reasons can be carried out after not less 2 ÷ 20 minutes about the moment of revealing of infringement.

Emergency switching-off темпостата occurs in the situations listed more low.

The conflict between signals of operating switches and gauges-switches of deactivation of a control system in the speed

Automatic emergency switching-off темпостата makes while translating the operating switch in any of working positions (SET/COAST, RESUME/ACCEL or CANCEL) at simultaneous development any of деактивирующих signals (braking, operation of the gauge-switch of stoplights, couplings or start permissions).

One more reason of automatic switching-off темпостата is transfer of the main switch in position «ON» at wrung out in any of working positions the operating switch.

Repeated activation темпостата after its emergency switching-off can be made only after transfer of the main switch in position «OFF».

Infringements in a chain of electric connections

In emergency switching-off темпостата can result following electric infringements:

a) Grounding or a detachment of the plug of the step-by-step servomotor/disconnection of a chain of a drive of the motor as a result of short circuit;
b) Short circuit in a chain муфты servomotor couplings;
c) Variations of a signal of speed with amplitude ± 10 km/h and the period 350 мс;
d) Burning in the built in relay during deactivation темпостата;
e) Infringement of serviceability of functioning of the module of management темпостата;
f) the Divergence between the values which have been written down in the RAM of the module of management;
g) Revealing by system of self-diagnostics of any infringements темпостата at ignition inclusion.

Infringement of serviceability of functioning of the step-by-step servomotor

Refusals of the step-by-step motor of an actuation mechanism, and also too frequent and its excessively long inclusions also can lead to emergency deactivation темпостата.
