Check of a condition of components of a suspension bracket and steering

Components of a steering drive and suspension bracket should be checked regularly. The worn out or damaged components of a suspension bracket and a steering drive can serve as the reason of excessive and dangerous deterioration of tyres, deterioration of running characteristics and controllability the car and to increase of the expense of fuel.

Rack/shock-absorber check
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Park the car on an equal platform, switch off the engine and cock a lay brake. Check up pressure in tyres.
2. Press one of car corners, then release it, paying attention to body movement. It should cease to shake and rise in a starting position after one or two качков.
3. If the car continues to be shaken or has not come back in a starting position the possible reason of it is the worn out either weakened rack of a suspension bracket or the shock-absorber.
4. Repeat the procedure described above for each of three remained corners of the car.

6. Examine racks/shock-absorbers on presence of signs of leak of a hydraulic liquid. The easy film of a liquid is not at the bottom for anxiety. In case of leak detection make sure that the liquid follows from a rack/shock-absorber, instead of whence still. If it nevertheless leak from a rack/shock-absorber, replace racks or shock-absorbers in steam on one bridge (or all four).
7. Check up reliability of installation and integrity of racks/shock-absorbers. Check up the top support of racks on presence of damages and deterioration signs. In case of detection of those replace racks or shock-absorbers.
8. In case of need replacements of racks or shock-absorbers address for instructions to Chapter 10. Always replace both components on one bridge, otherwise there can be a threat of safety of the car. If it is possible, try to replace all four components in the complete set.

9. Examine components of system of a steering on presence of damages and deformations. Search for signs of leak of the liquid, the damaged linings, protective covers and штуцерные connections.
10. Clear the bottom end of a rotary fist. Ask the assistant to grasp a bottom edge of a wheel and to shake it, and at this time observe of movement of the spherical support connecting a rotary fist with the lever. Examine protective covers of spherical support on presence of ruptures. If you find out люфт either it is necessary to replace the torn or proceeding protective covers, a spherical support (support).

12. Establish a steering wheel in average position.
13. Move a steering wheel here and there, observing thus of forward wheels. The steering wheel can have maximum люфт 25 mm.
14. At большем люфте a steering wheel it is necessary to check up draughts of a steering, the steering mechanism and люфт bearings of a forward suspension bracket.
15. Strongly move steering draughts a hand. Spherical hinges should not have люфта, otherwise replace hinges or steering draughts.

16. Shine with a lamp dusterи the bottom spherical support at the left and on the right and check up on presence of damages.
17. Shine with a lamp duster a tip of steering draught (the marksman on an accompanying illustration) at the left and on the right and check up on presence of damages.
18. In the presence of damages dusterов from safety reasons it is necessary to replace the corresponding hinge with dusterом. Pollution destroy the hinge.
19. Strongly move steering draughts a hand every which way. The hinge should not have люфтов. Otherwise it is necessary to replace a tip of steering draught.
20. Check up reliability of an inhaling of a counternut–1 tips of steering draughts and a nut of fastening of the hinge, without rotating it. The inhaling moment should make 50 Н m.
21. Check up protective covers at the steering mechanism, if necessary replace with the new.
