4.3.9.2. Installation of a head of the block of cylinders Preparation for installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Interfaced surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders should be absolutely pure. For their clearing use a firm plastic or wooden scraper. At clearing be careful, as the aluminium alloy is very easy for damaging. Check up that the deposit has not got to oil and water channels. It is especially important for greasing system as the deposit can block oil giving to engine components. If necessary clear channels.
2. Check up interfaced surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders on presence of notches, deep scratches and other damages. If defects small, they can be removed machining. But at detail major defects are subject to replacement.
3. Using a metal ruler and probe, check up planeness of interfaced surfaces.
4. Clear apertures under bolts in the block. Bolt screwing up in the aperture filled with oil can break off the block because of hydraulic pressure.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check up that the piston of the first cylinder is in the top dead point. Check up that two directing pins are established in the block of cylinders.
2. Check up that the new lining of a head of the block of cylinders has the same type, as the original, and establish a lining so that marks OBEN or TORAHS has been directed upwards and settled down from outside a gear belt.
3. Establish a head of the block of cylinders on directing pins.
4. Establish new bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders and tighten them at this stage by hand.
5. Gradually and in the sequence presented in drawing, tighten all bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders the demanded moment in some stages.
6. The further installation is made in sequence, return to removal, taking into account following moments.
7. At installation use new linings of a casing of the thermostat, collectors and a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
8. Establish a new gear belt.
9. Tighten all bolts the demanded moment.
10. Start the engine and warm up it to normal working temperature. Switch off the engine, uncover heads of the block of cylinders and tighten a final stage bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders.
