6.1.4. System of adjustment of temperature of air arriving in the engine

The temperature of air arriving in the engine copes manually заслонкой, located in the case of the air filter. Заслонка depending on seasonal temperature can be established in one of three positions:

 – Summer position – above 10 ° With;
 – Intermediate position – 10 ° With–-5 ° With;
 – Winter position – less-5 ° With.

Engine work will be more effective at installation заслонки in summer position and the least effective in winter position заслонки. If the engine works normally and keeps the dynamic characteristics, summer position заслонки the engine can be kept to temperature 0 ° S.Esli starts to work unstably, move заслонку to following position.

Positions заслонки are specified on a cover. In winter position заслонки in the engine air which has been warmed up by a final collector arrives only. In summer position заслонки in the engine fresh air from an air inlet arrives only. In intermediate position заслонки in the engine arrives both fresh air, and air which has been warmed up by a final collector.

MODELS 1,3, 1,4 and 1,6 L

The block of adjustment of temperature of air arriving in the engine maintains optimum temperature of air for combustion of fuel with a minimum quantity of emissions of harmful substances.

The optimum temperature of air submitted to the engine is reached by mixing of the fresh cold air arriving from an air inlet on the forward party of the car, with air warmed-up with an inlet collector. The proportion of the warmed-up and cold air is regulated by position of a folding shutter in the block in front of the air filter. The adjustment block copes either a vacuum diaphragm or a wax capsule. The vacuum diaphragm copes the gauge of temperature located in the case of the air filter.
