Removal, installation and check of a condition of the module (it) of ignition

4-cylinder models

Removal and installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
2. Preliminary having marked, disconnect electroconducting from bobbin assemblage.

3. Turn out fixing bolts and remove the ignition module.

4. Installation is made upside-down, - fixing bolts tighten with demanded effort (6.4 Nanometers). Track correctness of connection of electroconducting, - the error at connection can lead to an exit of the module of ignition out of operation!

CHECK

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. At the switched off ignition disconnect electroconducting from bobbin assemblage and measure resistance between plugs №№ 1 and 2 and №№ 3 and 4 contact sockets. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications. Considerably underestimated indications testify to short circuit presence.

2. For check of a secondary contour measure resistance between target plugs of the module of ignition (А-В and С-D).

3. Having measured resistance between the primary plug and the assemblage case (demanded value makes not less than 10 МОм), estimate also an isolation condition
4. The faulty coil is subject to replacement.

6-cylinder models

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. As in system of direct ignition (DIS) 6-cylinder engines individual bobbin modules are used, the description of procedures of their removal and installation see in Section Service and replacement of spark plugs. A tightening of fixing bolts it is necessary to make of 16 Nanometers with effort.
2. The procedure for test of bobbin assemblages is stated in Section Check of serviceability of functioning of system of ignition.
