Electrohydraulic control system - the general information, appointment of basic elements

The electronic control system of all all-wheel drive (AWD) models Subaru is developed on the basis of a control system front-wheel (FWD) models. The hydraulic part of a control system in addition includes the electromagnetic valve and муфту managements of a drive of back wheels. On the basis of the analysis of data TCM arriving from various information gauges defines optimum size of the twisting moment transferred to back wheels of the car, and realises it by means of the electromagnetic valve at the expense of management of pressure in бустере муфты managements of a back drive. Schemes of hydraulic connections of transmissions of both types on an example of a choice of 4th transfer in a mode «D» with the switched off blocking of the hydrotransformer are presented on illustrations.

The electronic control system precisely sets modes of functioning of the managing director муфты a back drive that is especially effective at car operation in heavy road conditions at movement on small speeds when special value gets smoothness of change of traction effort developed by driving wheels.

The electrohydraulic control system consists of the complete set of information gauges/gauges-switches, TCM and the hydraulic knots including electromagnetic valves. The system provides management of such functions АТ, as a gear change (including updating of the moments of switching), hydrotransformer blocking, pressure adjustment in lines, a choice of optimum operating conditions (Base/Power), and also the control of functioning distributing муфты (models MPT) / multidisk муфты restrictions проскальзывания interaxal differential (model VTD). On the basis of the analysis of parametres of entrance signals TCM defines a working condition of the car and carries out the control of functioning of eight electromagnetic operating valves (valves of switchings 1 and 2, distributive electromagnetic valves of coupling of lowering transfers and a brake of 2-4 transfers, executive valves of pressure in a line, blocking of the hydrotransformer, the distributing device and a brake of 2-4 transfers).

Signals of input-output TCM

Entrance signals

The signal of the gauge of position throttle заслонки (TPS) is used for definition of a point of switching, pressure in a line and depending on loading on the engine of speed of movement at which hydrotransformer blocking should be made.

The signal of the forward gauge of speed of the car (VSS) (is located on картере АТ) is used at management of a gear change, hydrotransformer blocking, pressure in a line and work distributing муфты.

The signal back VSS (is located on the lengthening case) is used at management of functioning distributing муфты, and also as a feedback signal at refusal VSS.

The signal of turns of the engine is used at management of blocking of the hydrotransformer for a guarantee of smoothness of switchings.

The signal of the gauge-switch of the permission of start is used at definition of transfers and pressure in a line in each of positions of the lever of the selector.

The signal of the gauge-switch of temperature ATF is used for suppression of blocking of the hydrotransformer, отпускания OD and temperature definitions трансмиссионной liquids.

The switch of a forward drive (model MPT) is used for imitation of a front-wheel mode at bench checks of the car (similar function the crosspiece established in the holder of the corresponding safety lock) carries out.

Signal ABS is used by optimisation of management by functioning of antiblocking system. The braking gauge-switch. If the signal of the given gauge-switch is generated at movement under a bias, TCM carries out transition of transmission to a hill-climbing gear for the purpose of activation of braking by the engine.

Signal TCS (model VTD) is used by optimisation of management by functioning антипробуксовочной systems (TCS). The signal of the gauge of an angle of rotation of a steering wheel (model VTD) is used for monitoring of behaviour of the car at development of signals of management by twisting moment transfer on back wheels.

Signals of gauges of the withdrawing moment / cross-section accelerations (model VTD) are used for monitoring of behaviour of the car at development of signals of management by twisting moment transfer on back wheels.

Target signals

Signals of electromagnetic valves of inclusion 1 and 2 supervise a step of switching of transfer by inclusion/deenergizing of the corresponding electromagnetic valve.

The executive electromagnetic valve of pressure in a line regulates pressure in a line according to traffic conditions.

The executive electromagnetic valve of blocking of the hydrotransformer regulates hydraulic pressure blocking муфты for management of it in 3 modes (opened, smooth, blocking).

The executive electromagnetic valve of management of a drive of back wheels regulates hydraulic pressure on distributing муфте for the purpose of the control of loading of a target shaft.

The control lamp of temperature АТF lights up at excess in temperature трансмиссионной liquids of maximum permissible value.

The executive electromagnetic valve of a brake 2-4 regulates working pressure of brake assemblage of 2-4 transfers for the purpose of maintenance of absence of stress of switching.

The distributive electromagnetic valve of a brake 2-4 supervises giving/switching-off of pressure upon the distributive valve In brake assemblages of 2-4 transfers at management of the moment of switching-off of a brake.

The distributive electromagnetic valve of coupling of lowering transfers supervises giving/switching-off of pressure upon the distributive valve In couplings of lowering transfers at management of coupling functioning, and also exercises administration of giving/switching-off of pressure upon the corresponding valve for an interdiction of inclusion of transfer of a backing.

Signals of management 1 and 2 provide with a twisting moment decrease in a twisting moment of the engine at a choice of a range and transfer change.

The light indicator of inclusion of a mode of the raised capacity (POWER) warns about transmission switchings between modes «Base» and «Power», - the indicator is shone at mode activation «POWER». Besides, the given indicator can be used for a conclusion of diagnostic codes of malfunctions of system of onboard self-diagnostics of diagnostics.

The light indicator of a mode «HOLD» warns about transmission switchings between modes «Base» and «Hold», - the indicator is shone at mode activation «HOLD».

Principles of functioning of a control system and its separate elements


Control system


АТ type MPT

Control system АТ can be broken on two subsystems: a subsystem of management of functioning by transmission and a subsystem of management of functioning distributing муфтой.

Subsystem of management of functioning by transmission

The subsystem carries out the control of following functions АТ: a gear change, hydrotransformer blocking, pressure adjustment in lines and a choice of the moments of a gear change.

Within the limits of management of a gear change following functions are carried out:

a) the Choice of the moments of raising or lowering switching according to installations of a mode of functioning of transmission (Base or Power) taking into account current position throttle заслонки and speeds of movement of the car;
b) Fixing АТ on 3rd transfer at receipt of entrance signal ABS;
c) the Interdiction of switching for 4th transfer at insufficient warming up ATF;
d) Blocking of 1st transfer in ranges «D», «3» or «2» АТ at mode activation «HOLD» from the corresponding switch.

Within the limits of management of hydrotransformer blocking the control actually blocking inclusions/deenergizings, and also the control of smoothness of its inclusion is carried out:

a) According to base уками blocking is included constantly at movement on 4th transfer to a range «D» transmissions whereas dynamic management of a hydrotransformer condition (blocking inclusion/deenergizing) is made on all other transfers to any ranges АТ depending on current position throttle заслонки and speeds of movement of the car. The exception is made only by the gear change moments when blocking is disconnected by default;
b) the Control of smoothness of activation of blocking is carried out each time at its inclusion.

Management of pressure in a line is carried out constantly:

a) In usual conditions pressure is regulated according to position throttle заслонки, speed of the car and signals of a choice of ranges;
b) During the moments of transition from transfer on transfer pressure in a line is regulated for the purpose of maintenance of absence of stress of switching;
c) At a start of motion pressure in a line compulsorily goes down for the purpose of restriction of increase of loadings on the engine.

Within the limits of management of the gear change moments following functions are carried out:

a) Adjustment of a step of switching by management of operation of the electromagnetic valve;
b) the Control of blocking of the hydrotransformer by time release blocking муфты during the gear change moments;
c) pressure Optimization in a line for the purpose of maintenance of absence of stress of switchings of transmission.

Subsystem of management of functioning distributing муфтой

The number of the problems which are carried out by the given subsystem includes the following:

a) Adjustment of the pressure submitted on муфту of management a drive of back wheels according to current position throttle заслонки and the speed of movement of the car;
b) Increase of operating pressure on муфту at inclusion of a range «1» АТ;
c) Installation of operating pressure upon the level corresponding to a mode of movement on 1st transfer (the previous point) see at revealing of the moment of the beginning of proslipping of wheels, - the given function is disconnected at movement with a speed over 60 km/h, and also at full closing throttle заслонки;
d) Decrease submitted on муфту operating pressure during fulfilment of turns;
e) Installation of pressure upon the set level at receipt of entrance signals ABS.

АТ type VTD

Control system АТ can be broken on two subsystems: a subsystem of management of functioning by transmission and a subsystem of management of functioning multidisk муфты interaxal differential of the limited sliding (LSD).

Subsystem of management of functioning by transmission

The problems which are carried out by the given subsystem, are similar described above for MPT-type transmissions.

Subsystem of management of functioning multidisk муфты interaxal differential of the limited sliding (LSD)

The number of the problems which are carried out by the given subsystem includes the following:

a) Adjustment of operating pressure on муфту LSD according to an entrance twisting moment, and traffic conditions;
b) Adjustment of operating pressure during a start of motion it is proportional to a corner of opening throttle заслонки;
c) Decrease in operating pressure on муфту during fulfilment of turns when the relation of speeds of rotation of forward and back wheels appears less than some value established for a current high-speed mode;
d) Decrease in operating pressure on муфту at revealing of the moment of the beginning of proslipping of forward or back wheels;
e) Installation of pressure upon the set level at receipt of entrance signals ABS.
f) Decrease in operating pressure on муфту at short circuit (ON) the gauge-switch of braking and full closing throttle заслонки (the base control);
g) Increase of operating pressure at activation of a mode «1» АТ for the purpose of improvement of controllability of the car.

The module of management of transmission

TCM is "brain" of a control system of transmission which on the basis of the analysis of the data arriving from various information gauges/gauges-switches («the nervous terminations»), defines current working parametres of movement and gives out corresponding commands on operating electromagnetic valves ("muscles"). The similar mechanism allows to exercise administration of a gear change, blocking of the hydrotransformer and adjustment of the pressure submitted on distributing муфту (model MPT) / multidisk муфту LSD (models VTD) according to the chosen workers уками, road conditions and current requirements of the engine.

The light indicator of inclusion of a mode of the raised capacity (POWER)

As already it was mentioned above, in number of the other functions which are carried out TCM, function of an automatic choice of one of two operating modes enters: "Base" (Base) or a mode «Raised capacity of return» (Power). The choice carries out according to a manner of driving of the driver which TCM defines proceeding character of management of a gas pedal. Usually base mode is used at movement on equal road while the most typical conditions of activation of a mode «Power» are sharp accelerations and movement uphill. Established on the panel of devices light indicator "Power" lights up at short circuit of the corresponding gauge-switch during activation of a mode of the raised capacity at movement in modes «D», «3» or «2» АТ.

The gauge of position throttle заслонки (TPS)

TPS gives out the electric signals corresponding to positions to an angle of rotation throttle заслонки. On the basis of the analysis of data TCM arriving from the gauge defines degree of opening throttle заслонки and speed of squeezing by the driver of a pedal of gas.

Back VSS

Back VSS (the gauge of turns of a target shaft) is established outside on the case of lengthening АТ.

On transmissions MPT the gauge registers frequency of rotation of back wheels on peripheral speed of elements of a forming surface of a drum distributing муфты and gives out on TCM a corresponding signal of the sinusoidal form (on 30 impulses on one turn of a target shaft).

On transmissions VTD the gauge traces peripheral speed of elements of a forming surface of directly target shaft, giving out on TCM 22 sinusoidal impulses on one turn of a shaft.

Forward VSS

Forward VSS (the gauge of turns of a target shaft) is established outside on картере transmissions. The gauge gives out on TCM alarm pressure of the sinusoidal form (on 16 impulses on one turn), corresponding to frequency of rotation of forward wheels of the car which the management module will transform to 4-pulse signals which are given out on ECM and a combination of devices.

The gauge of temperature ATF

The gauge is built in in клапанную transmission assemblage, represents термистор which resistance changes in inverse proportion to change of temperature and serves for temperature definition трансмиссионной to a liquid. The gauge of turns of the turbine of the hydrotransformer (the gauge of turns of a target shaft) is established outside on картере transmissions and serves for definition of frequency of rotation of the turbine of the hydrotransformer on peripheral speed of elements of a forming surface of a drum connected to entrance shaft муфты couplings of raising transfer. The gauge gives out on TCM a signal of the sinusoidal form (32 impulses on one turn of a shaft) on the basis of which results of processing the management module defines a parity of turns of an entrance shaft and speed of movement of the car and deals with a question on necessity of switching of transfer.


The gauge-switch of the permission of start (P/N)

The given gauge-switch is established on the right party картера transmissions, copes from the lever of selector AT and provides a safety guarantee at realisation of start of the engine. The gauge-switch

When the selector lever is in position P or N, the electric chain of the gauge-switch of the permission of start is closed also a starter is ready to проворачиванию the engine.

In all other positions of the lever the gauge-switch provides disconnection of a chain of a starter, preventing thereby possibility of realisation of start of the engine. At reverse gear inclusion («R») gauge-switch R/N provides operation of fires of a backing.

Besides, the gauge-switch of the permission of start informs TCM on position of the lever of the selector.
