Removal and installation of covers of drive ГРМ

The general information

Elements of drive ГРМ are concluded in space between two, forming the closed casing, covers: forward and back. Both covers are made of an aluminium alloy by a moulding method. The two-section design of a casing allows to lower level of the noise background made at functioning of a chain drive.

In quality прокладочных materials between the block of the engine and a back cover of drive ГРМ sealing rings, a metal lining and hermetic are used. Hermetic between forward and back covers is used for prevention of leaks of oil.

On a joint of a cranked shaft from forward cover ГРМ it is established фторполимерный [фторуглеродный?] an epiploon.

REMOVAL

The sizes of bolts of fastening of a forward cover of drive ГРМ

The sizes of bolts:

A: 6 x 45
B: 6 x 16

C: 6 x 30
D: 6 x 50

* The bolt marked with an asterisk is established with a sealing washer

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove a pulley of a cranked shaft (see Has undressed Removal and installation of a pulley of a cranked shaft).
2. Remove a forward cover of drive ГРМ.

 For fastening of a cover of drive ГРМ bolts of four types are used, - in order to avoid mess at уке spread out разноразмерные bolts separately.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Examine a cover on presence of cracks and other mechanical damages.
2. Check up an interfaced surface of a cover and a point of fastening of a pulley of a cranked shaft on presence of signs of development of leaks of oil.
3. A defective cover replace.
4. Carefully smooth out an interfaced surface of a cover, completely having removed from it traces of a material of old hermetic, then wipe a surface the rags moistened in acetone.

5. Impose on an interfaced surface a pillow of hermetic of type Three Bond 1280В in diameter 2.5±0.5 mm in section, - track, that hermetic was imposed from the inside from болтовых apertures.


6. Establish a forward cover of drive ГРМ and temporarily tighten bolts of its fastening.

 Roll bolts strictly on the former places.


7. Operating strictly in a certain order, tighten fixing bolts with demanded effort (6.6 Nanometers).


8. Establish a pulley of a cranked shaft (see Has undressed Removal and installation of a pulley of a cranked shaft).

Back cover

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove a pulley of a cranked shaft (see Has undressed Removal and installation of a pulley of a cranked shaft).
2. Remove a forward cover of drive ГРМ (the previous subsection see).
3. Remove газораспределительную a chain (see Has undressed Removal and installation газораспределительных chains).
4. Remove asterisks of a drive of camshafts (see Has undressed Removal and installation of asterisks of a drive of camshafts).

5. Remove an asterisk of a cranked shaft () and the oil pump ().

6. Remove the case редукционного the valve of the oil pump.

The sizes of bolts:
1 and 5 6 x 26
2-4 and 9 6 x 35
6-8 and 10 6 x 16

7. Remove the water pump.

 At occurrence of difficulties screw two bolts М8 in диагонально the located carving apertures (), - the uniform serial tightening of bolts should help branch of pump assemblage from a back cover of drive ГРМ.

8. Turn out fixing bolts and remove a back cover of drive ГРМ. The remark: For fastening of a cover of drive ГРМ bolts of seven types are used, - in order to avoid mess at installation spread out разноразмерные bolts separately.

A: 6 x 14
B: 6 x 18 (silvery)
C: 6 x 30
D: 6 x 18
E: 9 x 40
F: 6 x 30
G: 6 x 22

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Examine a cover on presence of cracks and other mechanical damages.
2. Check up interfaced surfaces of a cover on presence of signs of development of leaks of oil.
3. A defective cover replace.
4. Carefully smooth out interfaced surfaces of a cover, completely having removed from them traces of a material of old hermetic, then wipe surfaces the rags moistened in acetone.

5. Impose on interfaced surfaces of a cover of a pillow of hermetic of type Three Bond 1280В.

 On designated by a letter And the surface is imposed a pillow of hermetic in diameter 1.0 ± 0.5 mm in section, on the surfaces designated by a letter In - 3.0 ± 1.0 mm.

6. Establish NEW sealing rings.

And — the Big sealing ring
B — the Average sealing ring
With — the Small sealing ring

7. Establish a cover and temporarily tighten bolts of its fastening.

 Roll strictly on the former places.

8. Operating strictly in a certain order, tighten fixing bolts with demanded effort.

12 ÷ 19: 20
20 ÷ 31: 9
32 ÷ 29: 12
40 ÷ 46: 9

9. Establish the water pump and tighten bolts of its fastening with demanded effort (6.3 Nanometers).
10. Temporarily tighten bolts of fastening of the case редукционного the valve of the oil pump.
11. Operating strictly in a certain order, tighten bolts of fastening of the case редукционного the valve with demanded effort (6.4 Nanometers).

 Roll bolts strictly on the former places.

12. Establish the oil pump (A) and, operating strictly in a certain order, tighten bolts of its fastening with demanded effort (6.4 Nanometers).
13. The further installation is made in an order, the return to an order of dismantle of components.
