Check of a condition and replacement of spark plugs and ВВ electroconductings

The tools necessary at replacement of spark plugs

Check and adjustment

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. In most cases for replacement of spark plugs presence of a special candle head (with the elastic loose leaf inside) complete with a ratchet drive, and also a set of extension pieces of a drive of a key and the adaptation for check and updating of interelectrode backlashes is required. For a safe detachment of tips ВВ of wires from shafts of spark plugs the special tool though its application and is not strictly obligatory also is issued. Use динамометрического a key will allow to achieve correct effort of a tightening of candles.
2. Most correctly constantly to hold in the car the complete set of replaceable spark plugs with the adjusted interelectrode backlash. At purchase of new candles watch that they met on the parametres to requirements of the engine of your car. The necessary information is led in Specifications to the present Chapter, and also on label VECI fixed under a cowl (in case of different interpretations preference it is necessary to give information with VECI).
3. Start a reversing of candles only after full cooling of the engine. Not to waste in vain time, take advantage of a pause for check of a condition of the replaceable complete set. Attentively examine new candles, - at revealing of the slightest cracks in an insulator the corresponding candle should be rejected. Measure size of interelectrode backlashes of the new complete set (see further).

4 Interelectrode backlash of a candle is checked by introduction in it corresponding probeа a measuring instrument and should correspond to standard requirements. A demanded thickness probe should with easy resistance slip between lateral and central candle electrodes. Backlash updating can be made by means of the special adaptation which are usually a part of a measuring instrument - turn in in appropriate way a lateral electrode of a candle.

5 If the lateral electrode appears is located not precisely over central, correct its position by appropriate amount. Make sure of absence of cracks and other damages to a porcelain insulator of a candle. Presence of any sort of defects of an insulator is inadmissible. If the face surface of the central electrode is close to a hemisphere.

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

In order to avoid infringement of an order of ignition at electroconducting connection it is necessary to make обслу живание each of candles in an individual order.


Models 2.0 and 2.5 l

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
2. Remove the inlet chamber of an air path in gathering with an air inlet sleeve.

3. Disconnect electroconducting from pumps of giving of a liquid of washing of glasses. On the models equipped with a screen wiper of back glass, disconnect a hose of a washer of back glass and закупорьте штуцерный a socket a suitable plug.

4. Turn out two fixing bolts, remove the tank of a washing liquid and take him aside.

5. Disconnect ВВ a wire from a spark plug of the first cylinder, - pull only for a tip, and at all for a wire! It will be reasonable to take advantage of the special adaptation.
6. At presence near at hand a source of compressed air, take advantage of it for removal of dust from candle niches of the engine (for this purpose also the usual bicycle pump not is worse will approach).

7. Turn out a spark plug.

8. Verify the turned out candle with the identification card resulted more low, is will help at an estimation of the general condition of the engine.

Coal adjournment

Symptoms: soot Presence specifies in reenrichment of a toplivno-air mix or weak intensity of a spark. Causes ignition admissions, complicates start and leads to instability of work of the engine.

Overheat


Symptoms: the Porous, white insulator, erosion of electrodes and absence of any adjournment. Leads to reduction of service life of a candle.

Deterioration

Recommendations: Change candles on new, the same type.


Too early ignition


Symptoms: Electrodes are melted off. The insulator has white colour, but can be and is polluted owing to admissions of ignition or hit in chambers of combustion of extraneous particles. Can lead to an engine exit out of operation.

Recommendations: Check up калильное number of the established candles, a corner of an advancing of ignition, quality of a mix (whether it is not too impoverished), whether the system of cooling is corked and whether the greasing system normally functions.


Detonation

Electrospending luster

Short circuit of electrodes

Recommendations: Remove adjournment from interelectrode space.


Mechanical damages

Symptoms: Can be caused hit of extraneous materials in the chamber of combustion or arise at piston blow about too long candle. Lead to refusal of functioning of the cylinder and to piston damage.

Recommendations: Remove from the engine extraneous particles and-or replace.


L models 3.0

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

2. Remove the inlet chamber of an air path in gathering with an air inlet sleeve.
3. Disconnect electroconducting from pumps of giving of a liquid of washing of glasses. On the models equipped with a screen wiper of back glass, disconnect a hose of a washer of back glass and закупорьте штуцерный a socket a suitable plug.

5. Remove an air cleaner casing.
6. Disconnect electroconducting from the ignition coil.

7. Remove the ignition coil.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Before to roll new candles, slightly grease their carving part with antitaking hermetic. Make sure available on a candle of a sealing washer. Manually acquire one of new candles in a corresponding aperture in the engine. Having made sure that the candle is not warped in a carving, tighten it with demanded effort (at presence near at hand динамометрического a key). At absence динамометрического a key screw a spark plug before contact of a sealing washer with a cylinder head, and then tighten for 1/4 1/2 turns. For simplification of procedure наживления candles pull on its shaft a piece of a flexible fuel hose, - the probability of failure of a carving as at the slightest закусывании the hose will start to be turned simply is thus excluded.

2. On models 2.0 and 2.5 l vrashchatelno-progress plant tip ВВ of a wire on a spark plug shaft.

4. Establish ignition coils, - tighten fixing bolts with demanded effort.

Wire of a candle of 1st cylinder: 7.3 13.7 Ohm

Wire of a candle of 1st cylinder: 5.9 11.1 Ohm
Wire of a candle of 1st cylinder: 7.3 13.7 Ohm


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check of condition ВВ of electroconducting should be made without dependence from that, replacement of spark plugs was made, or not.
2. Check begins with external survey of isolation of wires at the working engine. Tyre out the car in a dark premise, start the engine and make sure of absence искрообразования on wires. Искрообразование is a sign of breakdown of isolation. Try not to touch moving components in an impellent compartment. Make necessary marks on replacement of defective wires, then allow to the engine to cool down.
3. Check of candle wires is made serially in order to avoid infringement of an order of their connection at assemblage. Usually on isolation of firm wires there are corresponding marks. In case of absence that, put it independently by means of an adhesive tape and a marker.
4. Disconnect ВВ a wire from a spark plug (is better take advantage of the special tool), - in which case do not pull for a wire, only for its tip.
5. Attentively examine internal walls of a tip. Corrosion is usually shown in the form of fragile коркообразного a touch of white colour.
6. Pull a tip back on a shaft of the candle, make sure of density of its landing. In case of need again remove a tip and turn in plugs in a rubber cover.
7. Pure rags wipe a wire on all its length, completely having removed from a surface of isolation dirt and greasing traces. Examine wire isolation on presence of cracks, traces прогара and other damages. Try not to bend a wire under acute angles in order to avoid infringement of integrity of veins of a conductor in isolation.
8. Check up a condition of contacts of wires from outside the ignition module, - again pull only for a tip.
9. Measure resistance of wires, compare results of measurements to standard requirements.
10. Replacement ВВ of electroconducting should be made the complete set, even in case of failure only one of wires.
11. Even at an excellent condition of system of ignition, at for start-up in crude weather there can be failures, - in case of need spray system elements влагопоглощающим a spray, - ask in shops of automobile accessories.
